Flairing: Live Flair Bartending with CASK & Co.
Live flair turns the bar into a stage. If you are thinking of adding it to your event, here is what to expect, what it needs and how to get the most from it.
What guests will see
Our flair bartenders toss, spin and flip bottles and shakers while they make drinks. Guests gather around the counter, watch the movement and take photographs. A good performance feels easy, though it rests on months of practice.
Two kinds of flair
Working flair is the smaller set of moves a bartender uses while serving, such as a spin before a pour or a toss between hands. Exhibition flair is a choreographed routine, usually set to music, performed as a show. Many events use a mix: working flair through the evening and an exhibition at a key moment.
When to schedule it
- At a reception, the couple's entrance or the start of the dance floor.
- At a bachelor party, the opening round, to set the energy.
- At a corporate launch, the moment the bar opens or the brand is revealed.
- At a birthday party, when the cake is cut or the first toast is made.
Space and setup
Flair needs room. We ask for a clear area behind the counter, a level floor and good lighting, and we agree where guests should stand so the performance area stays safe. Ceiling height matters indoors, since bottles are tossed upward.
Music helps but is not essential, and we can coordinate with your DJ or band.
Safety first
Flair is physical, and safety shapes every decision. Performers practise with dummy equipment, work with controlled movements and keep guests at a safe distance. We never throw bottles toward the crowd. We also match the intensity of the show to the room, so a quiet anniversary receives elegance rather than acrobatics.
Keeping the drinks great
A flair show should never come at the expense of the drink. Our bartenders measure and finish drinks accurately, using flair to add rhythm rather than delay. At busy moments, the counter can run with service bartenders alongside the performer.
Questions we are often asked
Can flair run through the whole event? Usually it is better as a few highlights, with working flair between them, so the drinks keep flowing. How long is a show? Most exhibitions run for a few minutes, planned around your programme. Is it suitable for small venues? Yes, with a reduced routine and enough clear space behind the counter.
We are happy to talk through the right level of flair for your guests and your room.
Booking flair
Live flair is included in our Elite package and can be built into a Bespoke plan. Weekend dates are popular, so ask early.
